Upcoming Master Thoroughfare Plan Meeting

If mobility issues grind your gears, mark your calendar for an upcoming Master Thoroughfare Plan (MTP) meeting.

The MTP is a long range plan that identifies the types of roadway improvements that are needed to keep up with population growth. The 2015 update, underway now, is aimed at improving street and pedestrian connectivity as well as offering more modes of transportation that are easy to use throughout the city. The previous update was completed in 2009 and, since then, the city has added 60,750 people, an 8.5 percent increase.

Give your feedback on transportation issues and help shape the latest version of the plan at one of four meetings this April. All meeting will run from 6 to 7 p.m., preceded by an open house at 5:30 p.m.

April 7: Central Library, 500 W. Third St. (already took place)

April 8: Heritage Church of Christ, 4201 Heritage Trace Parkway.

April 9: Handley-Meadowbrook Community Center, 6201 Beaty St.

April 13: Southwest Regional Library, 4001 Library Lane.
